Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />.A RESOLU ?rIOX OF A PPRE CIA ?IOM T-O <br />,T.?vtEs M. sMITH <br />`GWEREf4S, James Smith served in the United States Navy and the Naval Air Corps during <br />World War II; and <br />`G?".l?RE,4S, James Smith graduated from the University of Michigan with a BBA and JD degrees and <br />thus managed his own law firm in Cleveland for many years. In 1977, he merged his law <br />practice and retired from Van Aken & Bond; and <br />UNE12,rE.A,S', James Smith's major career concentration was in the areas of corporation law, <br />acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, and contract law. He served as an officer and <br />member of the Board of Directors of many Cleveland-based corporations; and <br />`iWE12,?EA,$', James Smith was an active member of many Cleveland organizations and law <br />Associations; and <br />`WXE12,rE,4S, James Smith served on the Council of Highland Heights, three years as its president; and <br />`?WE12,?E,,?U, James Smith was President of the Cuyahoga County District Board of Health for 28 <br />years; and <br />4OIrE1?,rE-AS, James Smith's integrity, intelligence and steadying influence is widely recognized in <br />the public health community and exemplifies the meaning of public service; and <br />BE TY"RESOlTED B1, ?3?E .%AyOR AND C0ILNCIL O_T <br />MAyFIELD TITLEACE, oH-To rHAT- <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, on behalf of the entire <br />administration, employees and residents of the municipality, are proud to commend James M. Smith for his <br />outstanding achievement. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and d'uected to prepare duplicate original <br />copies of the Resolution. One such original shall be presented to James M. Smith as a small token of the esteem in <br />which it is held by the residents, officials and employees of Mayfield Village, Ohio. The other original shall be <br />placed in the permanent records of the Village as a lasting tribute to James M. Smith. <br />Section 3.
