? ? <br />L' R <br />? l <br />? <br />Resolution No. 2002-10 <br />Introduced by: Mayor Bruce Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />A Resolution of Appreciation to Dorothy J.1Vlartin <br />WHEREAS, during her 25-year tenure with Mayfield Village, Dorothy J. Martin served <br />in several capacities and was well lnown by many residents for the warmth of her friendship <br />and her dedication and commitment to serving the public; and WHEREAS, Dorothy was initially appointed as the Secretary to 1Vlayor Robert Beebe in <br />May 1977, whom she served through Fall 1980 when she and Building Commissioner/ Service <br />Director Gus Amendola moved viith the Building & Service Depattment to its new building <br />and later during this decade Dorothy and her family moved into Mayfield Village; and <br />WHEREAS, Gus became Dorothy's mentor and close friend as she served as Secretary <br />of the Bualding & Service Departments through the 1980's where she acquired an extensive <br />knowledge of Mayfield Village and of its building and zoning codes; and <br />WHEREAS, as Secretary to the Mayor, Dorothy became Secretary to Council, taldng <br />minutes at Council meetings; as 5ecretary of the Building & Service Departments, I)orothy <br />uon became secretary to the Arclutectural Review Board, Board of Appeals and Planning and <br />;oning Commission, taking minutes for each committee; and <br />WHEREAS, as Mayfield Village grew, so did Dorothy's sesponsibilities and in 1990 she <br />became Cleaning Supervisor, overseeing the cleaning of all municipal facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, during the past eight years, Dorothy has served as Seeretary to Building <br />Coanmissioner Bernie Samac and Bernie advises Dorothy is a loyal and dedicated employee <br />and friend and that her excellent service to residents and contractors will be remembered for <br />years to come; and <br />WHEREAS, Dorothy J. Martin has announced her retirement effective May 316t and <br />should not be allowed to leave without recognition for her many years of faithful and <br />dedicated service; Dorothy will be deeply missed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OA70, THAT: <br />Dorothy J. Martin be and is hereby recognized for her 25 years of devoted service to Mayfield Village. <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, on behalf of themselves and the residents of <br />the Municipality hereby express their sincere appreciation to Dorothy J. Martin for twenty-five years of <br />service in her, many capacities and hereby congraiulate her upon her retirement from the Village. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate original copies of this <br />Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Dorothy J. Martin. The other original shall be placed in <br />the permanent records of the Village as a lasting tribute to Dorothy J. Martin. <br />ayor, <br />Section 3.
