ORDINANCE NO. 2003- 21 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH THE GREAT LAKES CONSTRUCTION <br />COMPANY FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF ALL LABOR, <br />EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS, APPURTENANCES AND INCIDENTALS REQUIRED TO <br />WIDEN AND RECONSTRUCT 2.14 MILES OF S.O.M. CENTER ROAD <br />(STATE ROUTE 91) FROM WILSON MILLS ROAD TO WHITE ROAD <br />WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary and the in the best interest of the <br />health, safety, and welfare of all Village residents to engage in the widening and <br />reconstruction of S.O.M. Center Road; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to law, bids were advertised by the Village, those bids were <br />received, and it was determined that the bid of The Great Lakes Construction Company <br />was the best bid. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby and herein <br />authorized and directed to enter into a Contract with The Great Lakes Construction <br />Company for.the widening and reconstruction of S.O.M. Center Road, pursuant to the <br />bids and specifications as advertised by the Village referred to as the Base Bid and <br />Alternate 1, and pursuant to the Company's bid not to exceed $10,512,863.92 as <br />received by the Village, which is determined to be the best bid pursuant to the terms <br />and conditions as set forth in these documents which shall be maintained by the <br />Director of Finance. <br />SECTION 2. This authorization shall be contingent upon receipt of a notarized <br />letter from The Great Lakes Construction Company acknowledging the scope of work <br />and time constraints associated with this project. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code. <br />!?i
