A <br />1 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001- 24 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 1333 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />RELATIVE TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE <br />WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has made certain recommendations for <br />adoption of the 2002 National Electric Code, and eliminating redundant or unnecessary <br />sections previously existing. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Chapter 1333 of the Codified Ordinances is hereby and herein <br />amended to read as follows: <br />1333.01 ADOPTION: ENFORCEMENT. <br />(a) There is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of Mayfield Village the <br />1-996 2002 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association N.F.P.A.-70 National <br />Electric Code. <br />(b) The National Electric Code shall be enforced by the Building <br />Commissioner and the Electrical Safety Inspector. <br />SECTION 2. That previously existing Section 1333.01 is hereby and herein <br />repealed in its entirety. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance and the new Code shall be effective January 1, 2002. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; <br />and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, <br />took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements <br />including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than <br />five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest <br />time allowed by law.
