RESOLUTION NO. 2001-01 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />.. A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SEEK FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE <br />FROM THE STATE ISSUE 2 INFRASTRUCTURE BOND PROGRAM FOR <br />EMERGENCY FUNDING OF WORTON PARK WATERLINE REPLACEMENT <br />PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article VII, Section 2K of the Ohio Constitution, the State of Ohio is <br />authorized to issue bonds and other obligations of the State for the purpose of financing public <br />infrastructure capital improvements of political subdivisions as designated by law; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 164.06 of the Ohio Revised Code, the District One Public Works <br />Integrating Committee has been created to accept, evaluate and recommend applications for state <br />financing of capital infrastructure improvement projects of political subdivisions in Cuyahoga County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 164.05 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Public Works <br />Commission has been created to accept and approve applications for state financing of capital <br />infrastructure improvement projects of political subdivisions in Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village has conducted a capital inventory and needs assessment and has <br />\determined that it is necessary to submit applications for financial assistance for Capital Infrastructure <br />. Improvement Projects. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VII.LAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply directly to the Ohio Public Works <br />Commission for the following capital infrastructure improvement project: <br />The Replacement of the Worton Park Water Line <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be <br />necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance, as approved as to form by the Village <br />Law Director, and in accordance with all authority granted to and limitations upon the Village Director <br />of Finance. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for the <br />reason that it deals with providing a source of potable water to the residents of the Worton Park <br />Neighborhood. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less <br />than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law.
