? <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-6 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SEEK FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE <br />FROM THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES' OHIO <br />COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR FUNDING THE <br />DEVELOPMENT OF THE UPPER 40 STREAM RESTORATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, <br />Division of Real Estate and Land Management, administers financial assistance for coastal <br />management purposes, through the Ohio Coastal Management Program, and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village desires financial assistance under the Ohio-Great Lakes <br />Coastal Restoration Grant Program, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VII,LAGE, OHIO, T'HAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply directly to the Ohio <br />Deparment of Natural Resources an application for Ohio-Great Lakes Coastal Grant fmancial <br />assistance. <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and Finance Director are hereby authorized to execute and <br />? file an application with the Ohio Depart7nent of Natural Resources and to provide all information <br />and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance. <br />SECTION 3. That Mayfield Village does agree to obligate the funds required to <br />satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the <br />terms and conditions of the Ohio-Great Lakes Coastal Restoration Grant Program. <br />SECTION 4. That the Mayor is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be <br />necessary and appropriate for obta.ining this financial assistance, as approved as to form by the <br />Village Law Director, and in accordance with all authority granted to and limitations upon the <br />Village Director of Finance. <br />SECTION 5. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village for the reason that it deals with providing a source of potable water to the residents of the <br />Worton Park Neighborhood. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor <br />or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />Page 1 of 2
