ORDINANCE NO. 2000- 09 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING CONTRACT BETWEEN FOP LODGE 57 AND <br />THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD <br />WHEREAS, representatives ofthe Village of Mayfield and FOP Lodge 57 have been <br />in negotiations with regards to a successor collective bargaining agreement which <br />addresses all the terms and conditions of employment of those members described within <br />the collective bargaining unit and who are members of the Mayfield Village Police <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS; these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement <br />subject to ratification by the bargaining unit and by the Council of the Village of Mayfield; <br />and <br />WHEREAS; Council deems it necessary and in the best interest ofthe health, safety <br />and welfare of all residents to ratify this tentative agreement on the recommendation of the <br />Mayor, Director of Law and Director of Finance, and wish to further authorize the execution <br />of a contract with FOP Lodge 57. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the tentative agreement for a successor collective bargaining <br />contract between Mayfield Village and FOP Lodge 57 is hereby and herein ratified pursuant <br />to the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in that contract which is attached <br />and incorporated into this ordinance as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute the <br />successor collective bargaining contract with FOP Lodge 57, and thereafter, the Director <br />of Finance is authorized and directed to comply with all of the financial terms and conditions <br />of that agreement. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; <br />and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, <br />took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements <br />including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />
