RESOLUTION NO. 99- 12 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE <br />NECESSITY OF RENEWING BY LEVY A TAX IN EXCESS <br />OF THE 10-MILL LIMITATION AND SUBMITTING THE SAME <br />TO THE ELECTORATE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it to be in the best interest of the municipality to <br />renew the levy of a 2.3 mills tax for an additional period of five (5) years for the payment <br />of current expenses. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. It is necessary to renew a levy of 2.3 mills in excess of the 10-mill <br />limitation for the benefit of Mayfield Village for the purpose of paying current expenses <br />at a rate not to exceed 2.3 mills for each $1.00 of valuation, which amounts to Twenty- <br />Three Cents ($.23) for each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of valuation for a period of <br />five (5) years beginning with the tax duplicate year 2000, which levy is a renewal of an <br />existing levy of 2.3 mills. <br />SECTION 2. The question of renewing the existing tax levy shall be submitted to <br />the electors of Mayfield Village, Ohio, at the general election to be held at the usual <br />voting places within said municipality on November 2, 1999. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to certify a <br />copy of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as provided by law, <br />and to notify the Board of Elections to cause notice of said election on the question of <br />levying said tax to be given-as required by law. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />statutory requiremenfs including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code. <br />SECTION 5.:,:.This..Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption by <br />Council and signature of the Mayor, or as may othewjise be provide for in law. <br />Council Pres
