Fft&0ltag?e.a. <br />WHEREAS, Kenneth W. Borkenhagen received his original appointment as a police <br />officer for the Mayfield Village Police Department on September 30, 1979; and <br />WHEREAS, Officer Borkenhagen served within the patrol division as a senior <br />patrol officer and frequently served as the patrol shift supervisor during his tour of <br />duty; and <br />WHEREAS, Ofticer Borkenhagen also served for several years as a member of the <br />regional Tactical Unit and SWAT Team of the Suburban Police Anti-crime Network (SPAN); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Officer Borkenhagen served the community of Mayfield Village with <br />pride and dignity throughout his career, and was well known for the warmth of his <br />friendship and his dedication and commitrnent to serving the public; <br />WHEREAS, Kenneth W. Borkenhagen has announced his intention to retire from <br />public service, effective October ls', 1999, and should be recognized for his many years <br />of faithful service to the citizenry, community and police department of Mayfield <br />Village. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLACE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />Seclion 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, on behalf of themselves <br />and the residents of the Municipality hereby express their sincere appreciation to Kenneth W. <br />Borkenhagen for twenty years of dedicated service to the Village as a Police Officer on the <br />Mayfield Village Police Department and hereby congratutate him upon his retirement from the <br />force and the Village. <br />Sec[ion 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate <br />original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Officer Kenneth W. <br />Borkenhagen. The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village as a <br />lasting tribute to Officer Kenneth W. Borkenhagen. <br />Secfion 3.
