Oct 13 99 04:14p <br />~~~. ~~ ~ <br />Diemert & Rssaciates (4401442-0825 <br />~ C. ~- C~v'~.c,~.,`.. <br />1~ ~v ~.~- <br />ORDINANCE NO. 99- ~ ~~~ ~~ <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 1185.06 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD REGARDING <br />ILLUMINATED SIGNS <br />WHEREAS, it has been deemed by Council to be in the best interest of the health, <br />sa#ety, and welfare of all Village residents to amend Section 351.13 of the Codified <br />Ordinances, relating to illuminated signs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 1185.06(c) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of <br />Mayfield is amended as follows: <br />1185.06 ILLUMINATION. <br /> <br />(c) No exposed reflective type bulbs, neon tube illumination bent to form <br />letters or symbols or used other than to back light silhouetted letters <br />or for the internal illumination of plastic faced signs or letters, or <br />strobe lights or incandescent lamps which exceed fifteen watts shall <br />be used on the exterior surface of any sign~so as to expose the fact <br />of the bulb, light or lamp to any public street or adjacent property. No <br />illuminated signs shall be permitted in the window or on the door of <br />any premises. Any illuminated signs within areas of a building that <br />are visible from the public right-of--way shall be removed by December <br />1.2000. Illuminated signs, as the same are permitted by this section, <br />are limited to the exterior of the building only. Neon tubing shall not <br />be visible to the eye and shall not be closer than one inch to the <br />plas#ic face or letter of any sign. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That all other Codified Ordinances of the Village of Mayfield shall <br />remain as presently drafted unless inconsistent with this amendment. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this <br />Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />p.2 <br />
