- ORDINANCE NO. 99- 06 <br />`' INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF WILLIAM THOMAS <br />AS DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br />WHEREAS, the Council has created a new Department of Parks and Recreation, <br />and pursuant to said Department, it was necessary to appoint a Director; and <br />WHEREAS, after investigation and interviews, the Mayor ,has selected and <br />appointed William Thomas as Director of Parks and Recreation, and it is the desire of <br />Council to confirm same and to establish compensation for such position. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor's appointment of William Thomas as Director of Parks <br />and Recreation is hereby and herein confirmed. <br />SECTION 2. The compensation of the Director of Parks and Recreation will be <br />$53,000 per annum, upon the commencement of full-time employment. Such <br />compensation will be paid bi-weekly, at the rate of Two Thousand Thirty-Eight Dollars and <br />Forty-Six Cents ($2,038.46). Any work by the Director prior to the commencement of full- <br />time employment, will be paid at an hourly rate of Twenty-Five Dollars and Forty-Eight <br />Cents ($25.48). <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected o ouncil and approval by the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by lave. <br />,~ , <br />Wft~`LIANI MARQU,~jIRDT <br />Council Preside <br />
