ORDINANCE NO. 99-15 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO <br />A CONTRACT WITH HORTON EMERGENCY VEHICLES COMPANY <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />VEHICLE FOR USE BY THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, it has already been deemed necessary and in the best interest of the <br />health, safety, and welfare of all of the Village residents to purchase an emergency medical <br />vehicle for use by the Village's Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to law, bids were advertised by the Village, those bids were <br />received, and it was determined that the bid of Horton Emergency Vehicles Company was <br />the best bid. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with <br />Horton Emergency Vehicles Company for the purchase of an emergency medical vehicle <br />for use by the Fire Department, specifically a Horton 553 Type III Series emergency <br />medical vehicle, pursuant to the bids and specifications as advertised by the Village, and <br />pursuant to that company's bid in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand <br />Eight Hundred Thirty Dollars ($123,830.00) which is determined to be the best bid and <br />pursuant to the terms and conditions as set forth in these documents, which shall be <br />maintained by the Director of Finance. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this <br />Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />
