ORDINANCE NO. 99-15 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH HORTON EMERGENCY VEHICLES COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL VEHICLE FOR USE BY THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, it has already been deemed necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of all of the Village residents to purchase an emergency medical vehicle for use by the Village's Fire Department; and WHEREAS, pursuant to law, bids were advertised by the Village, those bids were received, and it was determined that the bid of Horton Emergency Vehicles Company was the best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Horton Emergency Vehicles Company for the purchase of an emergency medical vehicle for use by the Fire Department, specifically a Horton 553 Type III Series emergency medical vehicle, pursuant to the bids and specifications as advertised by the Village, and pursuant to that company's bid in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Dollars ($123,830.00) which is determined to be the best bid and pursuant to the terms and conditions as set forth in these documents, which shall be maintained by the Director of Finance. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
