ORDINANCE NO. 98- 03 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, Cuyahoga County has certain federal Community Development Block Grant funds available for distribution to municipalities; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Director of Economic Development have recommended that the Village apply to the County for said funds for the following purposes. COMPETITIVE MUNICIPAL PROGRAM North Chagrin Commons Project WHEREAS, pursuant to public advertisement, a public hearing will be held on February 9, 1998, relative to the Village's participation in and application for Community Development Block Grant funds; and WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Direction of Economic Development, and after public hearing, this Council is of the opinion that the Village should apply to Cuyahoga County for Community Development Block Grant funds for the purposes set forth herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. This Council hereby authorizes the filing of applications by the Village with Cuyahoga County for Community Development Block Grant funds for the purposes set forth in this ordinance. SECTION 2. The Mayor, the Director of Finance/Director of Economic Development are hereby authorized and directed to enter such agreements with the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners as may be necessary for the application for and receipt of Community Development Block Grant funds and related funding, as provided by law. Said agreements shall be in substantially the form as approved by the Director of Law SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
