ORDINANCE NO. 98- 03 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, Cuyahoga County has certain federal Community Development Block <br />Grant funds available for distribution to municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Director of Economic Development have <br />recommended that the Village apply to the County for said funds for the following <br />purposes. <br />COMPETITIVE MUNICIPAL PROGRAM <br />North Chagrin Commons Project <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to public advertisement, a public hearing will be held on <br />February 9, 1998, relative to the Village's participation in and application for Community <br />Development Block Grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Direction of Economic Development, and <br />after public hearing, this Council is of the opinion that the Village should apply to <br />Cuyahoga County for Community Development Block Grant funds for the purposes set <br />forth herein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. This Council hereby authorizes the filing of applications by the Village <br />with Cuyahoga County for Community Development Block Grant funds for the purposes <br />set forth in this ordinance. <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor, the Director of Finance/Director of Economic Development <br />are hereby authorized and directed to enter such agreements with the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Commissioners as may be necessary for the application for and receipt of <br />Community Development Block Grant funds and related funding, as provided by law. Said <br />agreements shall be in substantially the form as approved by the Director of Law <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
