corrected pg 1 for <br />Ord. 98-4 (there was <br />a typo in Section 1. <br />Law Dir. sent this <br />ORDINANCE NO. 98- 04 ~ corrected copy. <br />3-16-98 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole djr <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ___ _ _ __ _____ <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ANTHEM BLUE CROSS <br />AND BLUE SHIELD AS AND FOR EMPLOYEE HEALTH <br />CARE AND HOSPITALIZATION BENEFITS <br />WHEREAS, the current health care and hospitalization insurance has expired as <br />of March 1, 1998; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Finance Committee of Council that this <br />legislation be passed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby and herein <br />authorized and directed to enter into a health care and hospitalization policies for <br />employees of the Village with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield pursuant to the rates <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less <br />than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />earliest time allowed by law. <br />MARK FIXLER, <br />Council President <br />First Reading: 2/16 , 1998 <br />Second Reading: 3/2 , 1998 <br />Third Reading: Suspended ~ 1 ggg <br />
