EX~IIBIT I <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />HAYFIELD VILLAGE, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />Transportation Recoveries, Inc. will construct athree-building office complex with a total of 360,000 <br />square feet of office space. Progressive Casualty is investing $36,000,000 into the project. <br />The total cost for the eligible public road improvements is $4,441,663. The granting of $600,000 in <br />629 Roadwork Development funds to the Village means the state's share of the project is 13.5 <br />percent. The balance of the funding w~l be secured by Mayfield Village through a variety of sources, <br />including the Ohio Public Works Commission, the Ohio Water Development Authority, and the State <br />Infiastructure Bank. <br />The roadwork improvements involve S.O.M. Center Road, White Road, and the construction of a <br />part ofPark Roads A and B. Approximately 2,875 linear feet of S.O.M Center Road will be widened <br />to five lanes. Approximately 1,250 linear feet of White Road will be widened to three lanes. <br />Approximately 5,000 linear feet of Park Roads A and B will be constructed. <br />Transportation Recoveries, Inc. will create 525 new full-time jobs in the first phase of the project. <br />It is expected that additional phases of the project will create additional jobs, and the result will <br />eventually tota12,000 new jobs at these facilities. <br />Transportation Recoveries, Inc. is a wholly-owned non-insurance subsidiary of The Progressive <br />Corporation. The Progressive insurance organization began business in 1937, Progressive Casualty <br />Insurance Comparry was founded in 1956, and the Progressive Corporation was formed in 1965 as <br />an insurance holding company. At the new complex, Transportation Recoveries, Inc. will perform <br />administrative and support functions for the automobile insurance division of Progressive Casualty. <br />Progressive Casualty is the sixth largest auto insurer in the U.S. <br />The Progressive Corporation currently has 5,690 employees in Ohio, but also has regional centers <br />in five other states where it could locate Transportation Recoveries' new complex.
