~,p ~,LAGE GE PROGRAMS ACCESSIBLE <br />POLICIES A1~U PROCTDTiFRESER5ONS WITRGHAI~DICAPS <br />Whereas it is in the intention of Mayfield Village to make all of its programs accessible tv all <br />members of the community,, ineludin~ hose persons with handicaps, the foIIowing Procedures are to be <br />implemented effective immedidteiy <br />1_ When advised that a person or persons with )Lwdicaps needs to conduct business with lh~e <br />Village's administrative office, every effort will be made to iaciiitate that business in such a <br />way as to accoe that Person or persons. Il: poss'-ble. petsounel and material will bo <br />transferred t,o the police departmr~ offices oa the lower level of the Village Hall to <br />facilitate the transaction of biisiriess• ~ cases where a person is unable to gv w the Village <br />Ball, efforts will be made to go to that petsvn's place of residence m conduct business- <br />of Council, Planning and Zoning and Board of Zoning Apps '~ <br />2. All public meetings ctson or arsons with hapdicaps <br />take place in the Co~uaitY Room. When advised that a p P <br />wish to acted other public meetings yr when it can be presumed in advance that s person or <br />persons ~~ handicaps will wish to attend a-public meeting, that meeting will also be <br />scheduled. to_ take place in the Commtuiity Room. If the Community Room is already <br />schednlcd.for another function, every effort will be made to reschedule corttlietirrg events.. <br />If scheduling conflicts are umablc to be resolved, the Village will make available personnel <br />and make every reasonable effort to accommodate a perm orpersons with handigps. <br />3. A continuing effort will be trade to improve e.~dsting facilities and currcnt~ programs in an <br />effort to make them more accessible to p~ with handicaps_ Reviews will b¢ conducted . <br />of efforts on ~ periodic basis and input will be sought front members of the wmmnnity on <br />these efforts. <br />4. Prior to the construction of new facilities or othc>• public. improvements, a review will be <br />conducted by representatives of the Village administration and/or legislative.branch to <br />ensure that the facilities or improvements in .question comply with all provisions of the <br />Americans with Disabilities Act. <br />5_ This statement of policies will be posted in conspicuous places thrvug~aoot the Village and <br />will also be published in the Voice of the Village on an amoral basis_ <br />6.
