RESOLUTION NO. 98- 04 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole A RESOLUTION REQUESTING CERTIFICATION FROM THE BOARD OF BUILDING STANDARDS, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR USE GROUPS I-1, I-2, AND I-3 WHEREAS, the Village Building Department is currently certified by the State to review plans, to issue permits, and to make inspections in all building use groups, except "I"; and WHEREAS, the Village is anticipating future construction in the subject building use group, including jails, hospitals, assisted living centers, day care centers, and similar type occupancies; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village to receive certification for reviewing plans, issuing permits and making inspections in this building use group. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That the Administration is hereby and herein authorized, and the Village does hereby request from the Department of Commerce, Board of Building Standards, certification to the Mayfield Village Building Department for building use group SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Department of Commerce, Board of Building Standards, 6606 Tussing Road, Reynoldsberg, Ohio 43068. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
