RESOLUTION NO. 98- 04 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING CERTIFICATION FROM THE BOARD OF <br />BUILDING STANDARDS, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE <br />FOR USE GROUPS I-1, I-2, AND I-3 <br />WHEREAS, the Village Building Department is currently certified by the State to <br />review plans, to issue permits, and to make inspections in all building use groups, except <br />"I"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village is anticipating future construction in the subject building <br />use group, including jails, hospitals, assisted living centers, day care centers, and similar <br />type occupancies; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village to receive certification for <br />reviewing plans, issuing permits and making inspections in this building use group. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Administration is hereby and herein authorized, and the <br />Village does hereby request from the Department of Commerce, Board of Building <br />Standards, certification to the Mayfield Village Building Department for building use group <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is directed to certify a copy of this resolution <br />to the Department of Commerce, Board of Building Standards, 6606 Tussing Road, <br />Reynoldsberg, Ohio 43068. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised <br />Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the <br />residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage <br />by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval <br />by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />
