Resolution No. 2008-26 <br />Page 2 <br />4. Proper training of employees. All Service Directors will ensure that <br />snow removal crews are properly advised of these sensible salting practices and are <br />instructed to follow the guidelines set forth herein. <br />5. Proper calibration of equipment. All Service Directors will ensure that <br />snow removal equipment is properly calibrated. <br />6. Investigation of alternative products. All Service Directors will <br />continue to investigate the benefits of and utilize alternative products such as brine, <br />aggregates, and other enhanced deicers. <br />7. Communication of change of salting policy. All Service Directors will <br />be responsible for communicating these sensible salting practices to their Police <br />Departments, Mayors and City Councils. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Sensible Salting Practices developed by the Cuyahoga <br />County Service Directors are hereby adopted. <br />SECTION 2.Adoption of the Sensible Salting Practices will be communicated <br />to all appropriate Village departments, the local media and residents of the community. <br />SECTION 3.The Village will take every opportunity to educate its residents <br />about its intent to abide by the Sensible Salting Practices and about safe driving <br />practices on snow-covered roadways. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code. <br />
