ORDINANCE NO. 2014-09 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />; <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING CONTRACT BETWEEN <br />?? MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO AND <br />THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE #57 <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE DIVISION <br />WHEREAS, representatives of Mayfield Village, Ohio and the Fraternal Order of <br />Police Lodge, #57, have been in negotiations with regard to a successor collective <br />bargaining agreement which addresses all the terms and conditions of employment of <br />those members described within the collective bargaining unit and who are members of the <br />Mayfield Village Police Department; <br />WHEREAS, these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement <br />which has been ratified by the bargaining unit but is subject to ratification by the Council of <br />the Village of Mayfield; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety <br />and welfare of all residents to ratify #his agreement,on the recommendation of the Mayor, <br />Director of Law and Director of Finance, and wish to further authorize the execution of a <br />contract with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the agreement for a successor collective bargaining contract <br />between Mayfield Village and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57 is hereby and herein <br />ratified pursuant to the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in that contract <br />which is attached and incorporated into this ordinance as Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute <br />the successor collective bargaining confract with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge <br />#57 and thereafter, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to comply with all <br />of the financial terms and conditions of that agreement. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code.
