INTRODUCED BY : Councilman gaga AN ORDINANCE .INCLUDING THE MAYOR IN THE HOSPI°I'ALI2ATION AND MEDIC,aiL, COVERAGE PLAN OF THE MUNICIPALITY, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS THEREFORE AND DECLARING A~1 EMERGENCY . WHEREAS, Mayfield Village is a chartered home rule municipality, organized and existing in accordance with the Constitution and statutes of the State of Ohio; and- WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, as a chartered home rule municipality, has the authority to exercise all powers of local self-government; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. Effective December 1, 1980 the Mayor of Mayfield Village, Oh o, shall be considered an employee of the municipality for the purpose of inclusion in the hospitalization and medical coverage plan currently in effect as of said date or any successor ,plan of hospitalization anc~ medical coverage purchased by the municipality thereafter. The pxemium fox inclusion of the Mayor in such plan shall be paid for by the municipality. Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village in that it will helg provide more stable leadership in the office of the Mayor of the municipality. It. shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise .at the earliest time allowed by law.
