ORDINANCE N0.2017-16 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 2619, AND HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO WHEREAS, representatives of Mayfield Village, Ohio and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2619, have been in negotiations with regard to a successor collective bargaining agreement which addresses all the terms 'and conditions of employment of those members described within the collective bargaining unit and who are members of the Mayfield Village Fire Department; and WHEREAS, these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement which has been ratified by the bargaining unit but is subject to ratification by the Council of Mayfield Village; and WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all residents to ratify this agreement, and' wish to further authorize the execution of a contract with Loca12619 of the International Association of Firefighters. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: . SECTION 1. That a successor collective bargaining agreement between Mayfield Village and the International Association of Firefighters, Loca12619 is hereby and herein ratified pursuant to the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the document attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute the successor collective bargaining Agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Loca12619 and, thereafter, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to comply with all of the financial terms and conditions of that agreement. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
