~~~ ORDINANCE N0.2017-17 <br />' INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, LODGE #57, AND MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />WHEREAS, representatives of Mayfield Village, Ohio and the Fraternal Order of Police <br />Lodge #57, have been in negotiations with regard to a successor collective bargaining agreement <br />which addresses all the terms and conditions of employment of those members described within <br />the collective bargaining unit and who are members of the Mayfield Village Police Department; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement which <br />has been ratified by the bargaining unit but is subject to ratification by the Council of Mayfield <br />Village; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety and <br />welfare of all residents to ratify this agreement, and wish to further authorize the execution orf a <br />contract with Lodge #57 of the Fraternal Order of Police. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1. That a successor collective bargaining agreement between Mayfield <br />Village and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57 is hereby and herein ratified pursuant to the <br />terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the document attached hereto and <br />incorporated he "rein by reference as Exhibit "A." <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute the <br />successor collective bargaining contract with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57, and <br />thereafter, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to comply with all of the financial <br />terms and conditions of that agreement. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place <br />in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
