(Ord. 96-27. Passed 8-5-96.) <br />~~~ <br />1185.14 SIGNS PERIO~IITTED IN ANY DISTRICT. <br />(a) Development Sins. One temporary development sign shall be permitted announcing a <br />proposed building or a building under construction. Such signs shall be removed within <br />seven days of the intended use of the project. Development signs shall not exceed y- <br />~wanine square feet in area. Development signs not affixed to buildings shall be perpendicular to <br />the street. <br />(b) Securit~Signs. Security signs shall be of a type readily affixed to a window, or placed on <br />the ground with a suitable support. Security signs shall not exceed one square foot in area. <br />(c) Non-commercial opinion sign. One non-commercial opinion sign shall be allowed year- <br />^,,,,a „°r r^r^°'no longer than seven days after the intended purpose is served. A non- <br />commercial opinion sign is a sign which does not advertise products, goods, businesses or <br />services and which expresses an opinion or other point of view. During t~ethis period <br />^,;+;^.,, ~ ° ,..,.,;++°a : ^,.a.,,,^° , ,;+,, ~°^+;,,,, > > Qom., ~~a~~~~~ each parcel shall be <br />permitted to display additional non-commercial opinion signs according to the number of <br />candidates on the ballot. <br />(d) Political Signs. Political signs shall be permitted only in accordance with the following <br />regulations: <br />(1) Such signs shall be located not less than ~e~yten feet from the right-of--way line. <br />(2) No sign shall exceed nine square feet in area. <br />(3) Such signs shall not be illuminated in any manner. <br />~~ - - <br />e~lec-~ie~r Each suEk olp itical sign shall bear the name of eke a~campaign chairperson or <br />treasurer, and the address of e~ person, who, together with the candidate(s) shall be <br />responsible for compliance with these regulations, and for the payment of any fines. Each <br />sign shall be removed within fi~tseven days~;^ a' after the Election Day. Any <br />sign not so removed may be thereafter removed and disposed of.by the authority of the <br />Building Commissioner, and the responsible party shall pay a ten dollar ($10.00) charge for <br />each sign remaining after the deadline. <br />{~}~ Such signs shall not present a vision problem to vehicular traffic as determined by <br />the Chief of Police. <br />{~}~ Such signs shall be either parallel or perpendicular to the frontage street of such <br />property. <br />
