ORDINANCE NO. 2016-12 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL TO APPROVE THE BID SUBMITTED BY HASTINGS AIR ENERGY CONTROL, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE DIESEL EXHAUST VENTILATION SYSTEM AT THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE FIRE STATION. WHEREAS, the Chief of the Mayfield Village Fire Deparhnent advertised for bids pursuant to specifications for the Diesel Exhaust Ventilation System project for the Mayfield Village Fire Station; and WHEREAS, Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. submitted a bid which included the amount of $57,992.69 for the base project as well as the amount of $2,900.00 for the small tool fume extractor for a total of $60,892.69 which are attached hereto and jointly referred to as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest to the health, safety and welfare of all Village residents to authorize a contract with Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. for a Diesel Exhaust Ventilation System in the amount of $57,992.69, and an "additional amount" of $2,900.00 for the small tool fume extractor, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village.
