ORDINANCE N0.2016-30 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br />THE MAYOR AND .PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE FORMATION OF THE <br />HEIGHTS-HILLCREST TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM <br />FOR SPECIAL RESCUE SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield and other communities have been members of <br />either Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team or the Heights Area Special Rescue Team, and have <br />received mutual aid via special rescue services from such entities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team is merging with the Heights Area <br />Special Rescue Team to form the Heights-Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team, which should <br />provide the Village with equal or better services at no net increase in costs when the costs of <br />training and employing team members are considered; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that it is appropriate for the Village of <br />Mayfield to enter into a contact with other area communities for the formation of and <br />participation in the Heights-Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team for the provision of special rescue <br />services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio hereby authorizes and directs the <br />Mayor and President of Council to enter into an agreement for the formation of the Heights- <br />Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team and participation therein as set forth in the document attached <br />and incorporated by reference as Exhibit "A." <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took <br />place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
