ORDINANCE N0.2016-30 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND .PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE FORMATION OF THE HEIGHTS-HILLCREST TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM FOR SPECIAL RESCUE SERVICES WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield and other communities have been members of either Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team or the Heights Area Special Rescue Team, and have received mutual aid via special rescue services from such entities; and WHEREAS, the Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team is merging with the Heights Area Special Rescue Team to form the Heights-Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team, which should provide the Village with equal or better services at no net increase in costs when the costs of training and employing team members are considered; and WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that it is appropriate for the Village of Mayfield to enter into a contact with other area communities for the formation of and participation in the Heights-Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team for the provision of special rescue services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor and President of Council to enter into an agreement for the formation of the Heights- Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team and participation therein as set forth in the document attached and incorporated by reference as Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
