Mayor.Hodgson read a letter from the East Ohio Gas Company, <br />submitting for approval their- plans covering .the proposed construction of a <br />gas main and service between the sidewalk and curb on the. south side of <br />Seneca Rvad, westerly from the west of Beech Hil]. Road, as indicated on a <br />drawing of the proposed construction, which drawing was examined. by Council. <br />It was moved by Iii. Oatess and seconded by Mr. 1~ting that the <br />proposed construction be approved. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes•® Messrs Swanson,0atess,Tsylor,~hi.ting & Beard. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />• Proposed Construction Approved <br />Mayor Hodgson reported that a~petitiori.whicYi had been circulated <br />among the tvrent~ six residents of the Village of fl~tayfield on Ridgebury Boulevard <br />for the purpose of receiving their assent to the proposed construction of a <br />water main along Ridgebury Boulevard had been returned with ten signatures <br />to the.peti~tion. <br />Mr. Gagliardo, one of.the residents of Ridgebury Boulevard, who <br />is not served by any mater main except a 2" private main connected to the <br />Mayfield Heights water mains, explained that there would be no direct benefit <br />to the large majority of the residents of Ridgebury Boulevard who are residents <br />of the Village of Mayfield through the construction of a water main by the <br />Village of Mayfield on Ridgebury Boulevard. <br />Mr. Swanson suggested a meeting of the residents of Ridgebury <br />Boulevard who are residents of the City of Mayfield Heights vrith those on <br />Ridgebury Boulevard who. are .residents of. the Village. of Mayfield. <br />Mr. Beard suggested dropping the matter, since the residents of the <br />Village of Mayfield :who are residents of Ridgebury Boulevard indicated by <br />their petition that they did not think that the construction of a water main <br />on Ridgebury Boulevard would be beneficial to them at the present time. Mr. <br />Whiting suggested that the matter be tabled. <br />Mayor Hodgson read a letter from Fulton, Krinsky & Dela Nlotte, who <br />are the contracto~°s building the addition to Mayfield Center Elementary School. <br />The letter was in response.to an. inquiry by the Service Director and Council <br />of the Village of Mayfield with respect to the approval by the Village of <br />plans for the construction of such addition and the collection of building permit <br />fees for such construction. The letter furnished the legal opinion of the <br />Solicitor of Garfield Heights9 Ohio, to the effect that municipal authorities <br />are without authority to require permit fees of municipal school districts <br />for new school buildings or additions thereto. <br />Mayor Hodgson read a letter from the Mayfield School District <br />Recreation Council, requesting the Village of.Ddayfield to send a representative <br />to the,meeti_ngs of the organization® Mr. Rogers, Treasurer of the Village <br />of Mayfield, volunteered to act as the official representative of the Village <br />in such organization. <br />9. <br />
