The Clerk submitted Pay Ordinance No. 375 to Co~cil for its <br />examination. <br />It was moved by Mr. Swanson, seconded by Mr. Taylor,~that Pay <br />Ordinance No. 375-P be passed as read. <br />Roll Call.: Ayes o Messrs Swanson, Taylor, Whiting, Beard & Oatess. <br />. Nays -None.. <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed. <br />At this point, Nor. Hodgson presented his resignation as Mayor to <br />the, Council and stated that, due to unforseen circlunstances, he was forced <br />to resign. He then pointed out tklat Mr. Endres become the next Mayor and <br />that. Council. would have to elect a new President Pro Tem of Council. and, a <br />new member of Council. He asked Mr. Swanson, his predecessor, to take over <br />the chair in 1~r. Endress! absence and preside until a new President Pro Tem <br />of Council was chosen. <br />Nor. Swanson. then accepted the chair and extended his regrets and <br />that of members of Council to Mayor Hodgson. <br />Mr. Edelman suggested that they should have a formal motion <br />accepting with regret the resignation,which was made by Mr. Taylor, seconded <br />by I`IS°. Beard. <br />Roll Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Taylor, Tnlhiting, Beard & Oates s. <br />. Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />I"~r. Edelman then asked that the records show that Per. Endres, <br />President of Council Pro Tem, automatically becomes Mayor. He forthwith <br />presented the bond of Mayor Endress for approval of Council.. <br />It was moved by Mr® Taylor, seconded by Ifr. Oates, that Mayor <br />Endres" bond be accepted. <br />Roll Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Taylor, ~iiting, Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Bond Accepted <br />Nominations for President of Council Pro Tem then being~n order, <br />Nor. Whiting nominated Mr. Oatess and Mr. Taylor nominated Mir. Beard. At <br />this point Mr. Swanson asked our Solicitor for the proper procedure and Mr. <br />Edelman suggested that they vote on the first nomination and see if a majority <br />could be reached. There was no second to the first motion and the nomination <br />of Mr. Beard ~uras then considered. Mr. Oates seconded this nomination. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - ~Tessrs 9r~ranson, Taylor, Whiting, Oatess. <br />Nays - Mr. Beard not voting. <br />Motion carried <br />I`'1r. Beard elected <br />5. <br />
