Motion carried Rules ,Suspended It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Strater, that Ordinance No. 511 ~ approved and passed as read. Roll Ca11: Ayes -Messrs Taylor,Strater,Beard, Whiting and.Oatess. _ Nays -None., Motion carried Ordinance passed Mayor Endress then stated that it was very generous of the Fire , Department to pay for this equipment, which 'hehoped would not have -to be used too often, but which he thought was a desirable thing to have.. Our Engineer, 1"~r. Demore9 presented the bids on the Him end Road Water Project. Five bids were received -Utilities Cons. Co. 31,285.509 Emil Marcelletti_~c Son Consa Co. ~31,7~.7.509 B. Fatol Cons. Coo X32,887.00 and A. Marra Cons. Co. ~3~.,116.35.• The En~~i.nee~s estimate of cost tra.s ~35aO20,00 with allowance for Engineering Inspection and contingencies of ' X3,980,00. Mr. Oatess asked our engineer if these were reliable construction companies. Mr. Demote stated that they zaere of the best, whereupon Mr. Beard, seconded by r'Ir._strater, introduced Resolution No. 288 entitled, "A Resolution Rejecting A11 Bids for the Construction of a:eater Main in ~i.g'n7an.d Road Except the Bid of The Utilities Construction Co." which resolution was read to Council.. , It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded~by Mr. Beard, that the rules of law requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended.
