June 20 to July 18th was read to Council. July 3rd -one <br />.field fire call to ~~dhite Roado July 9th -one house fire call. <br />i'~iayor Swanson then reported that 67 cases vrere triod in <br />Iulayor''s Court and X722.00 received in fines, tNro cases still pending. <br />At this point, Ordinance No. 321 entitled: "Au Ordinance <br />amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 159, the zoning ordinance of the <br />Village of %iayfiold, by including outdoor theatres and drive-in tl2eatres <br />as class U G uses" eras read to Counci 1. This eras the second reading of <br />this Ordinance„ _ <br />I•iayor Swanson thaw brought up the fact that this eras the last <br />time for raising the salaries of village officers and stated further <br />that he vrould~ run if nominated® Iir. Swanson then went on to say that <br />his profession gave him a living and that he considered his Mayor's <br />position a civic duty and did not wish for more money for such a position. <br />He said that if Council could get a better man for more money that it <br />z~ras up to Council to raise the l%ayorQS salary at this Lima. There was <br />some discussion but no action•on this matter. <br />Mr. Sloan then introduced Ordinance No. 324;: entitled: <br />"An Ordinance to Repeal Ordinance No. 214 and Fixing the Compensation <br />and Bonds of the Electod Officers and the Compensation o_r" the Members of <br />Council of the Village," vrhich ordinance eras read to Council. It eras <br />moved by Iu1rs. Cass, seconded by Mr. Hardman, that the rules of law <br />requiriizg an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- hissers Hardn~.an,Sloan,Zir,glomax~,Cass & Heiss. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended. <br />It was moved by Pir.
