The following Police Report eras read to Council: Traffic arx°e~ts 63, police calls 42, hospital trips 1, mutual aid calls 7 accidents reported 1, thefts r©ported 1. The f ollo~rrin,g report from the Fir© Department coverir:g a period from. June 20 to July 18th was read to Council. July 3rd -one .field fire call to ~~dhite Roado July 9th -one house fire call. i'~iayor Swanson then reported that 67 cases vrere triod in Iulayor''s Court and X722.00 received in fines, tNro cases still pending. At this point, Ordinance No. 321 entitled: "Au Ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 159, the zoning ordinance of the Village of %iayfiold, by including outdoor theatres and drive-in tl2eatres as class U G uses" eras read to Counci 1. This eras the second reading of this Ordinance„ _ I•iayor Swanson thaw brought up the fact that this eras the last time for raising the salaries of village officers and stated further that he vrould~ run if nominated® Iir. Swanson then went on to say that his profession gave him a living and that he considered his Mayor's position a civic duty and did not wish for more money for such a position. He said that if Council could get a better man for more money that it z~ras up to Council to raise the l%ayorQS salary at this Lima. There was some discussion but no action•on this matter. Mr. Sloan then introduced Ordinance No. 324;: entitled: "An Ordinance to Repeal Ordinance No. 214 and Fixing the Compensation and Bonds of the Electod Officers and the Compensation o_r" the Members of Council of the Village," vrhich ordinance eras read to Council. It eras moved by Iu1rs. Cass, seconded by Mr. Hardman, that the rules of law requiriizg an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. Roll Call: Ayes- hissers Hardn~.an,Sloan,Zir,glomax~,Cass & Heiss. Nays -None. Motion Carried Rules Suspended. It was moved by Pir. Sloan; seconded by I:~°s.
