1 <br />A Special Meeting was set for Monday, March 24th, if the Safety <br />Committee finds that the Ford Car can be used, and at this meeting the bids <br />already received for the purchase of a new Police car will be considered. <br />It was moved by Mr. Endress, seconded by Mrs. Cass, to defer <br />action on the sale of the present police car, until a new car is purchased. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs V~raltz, Sloan, Endress, Scheuring, <br />Cass and Oatess " <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />The bids for the sale of the present Service Truck and the purchase <br />of a new one.were opened and read by the i~ayor. The following companies bad <br />on the sale of the present truck: . <br />Marshall Motors . . .~202e00 <br />Euclid Ford Company ., . 310000 <br />Bids on a new Service Truck were received from the following companies: <br />Southwest Ford Company <br />Euclid Ford Company <br />Birkett._L. Williams <br />?~arshall_ Motors <br />. ~ 4,183.27 <br />. . 4,166.59 <br />. 4, 054.85 <br />. 3,893.78 <br />1 <br />Since the specifications on the Service Truck were too strict, and <br />apparently the bidding was limited for this reason,.it was moved by Dr. Waltz, <br />seconded by, Mrs. Cass, that all the bids. for the purchase of a nevr truck be <br />rejected,"and the matter be referred to the Service Committee who will make a <br />recommendatioh to Council at the next regular meeting. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Waltz,Sloan,Endress,Scheuring,Cass & Oatess <br />Tdays - None <br />Motion Carried <br />` Mr. Slo~.n introduced Resolution No. 200 entitled: '~A Resolution <br />Authorizing a One and One Half Mi11 Levy for the Tax Years 1952_and 1953 for <br />Construction and Acquisition of Certain Permanent Improvements Defined to ba <br />Permanent Improvements to the Village Hall, Construction and Improvement of <br />Buildings for the use of the Fire Department, Police Department and Service <br />Department and the"Acquisition of Vehicle`s for.the usQ of the Service Depart- <br />ment; Police Department and Fire Department", which Resolution was read to <br />Council. _ <br />It was moved by Mrs. Cass, seconded by Iv7r. Endress, that the <br />rules of law requiring a Resolution to be read on three separate occasions <br />be suspend®d0 <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs ~lraltz, Sloan, Endress,Schouring, <br />Cass and Oatess <br />Nays - Nono. <br />1 <br />I~2otion Carried <br />Rules Suspended 20 <br />
