- Minutes of Special Meeting <br />Apri1 13, 1959 <br />The Counc3l of the Village of Mayfield met irr• speeial meet3ng at <br />the Village Hall at 8 ofclock P. M. on Monday, April 13' 1959, pursuant <br />to notice given to a]1 members of Coaneil according to l.aw, Mayor Endress <br />presiding. <br />Ro11 Ca11;:Present - Messrs Grootegoedp Wedler,S trater'Brown.,Zorn & Hoplcins. <br />Absent - Nonea <br />As this was a Special Meeting called to consider plans for the Nor-th- <br />Sou.th Freeway passing through our Village, Mayor?Endress then introduced <br />Mr. William Henry9 the Division Engineer of the project' and Mr. Spillberg, <br />also of the State Highway Departnento <br />Mayor Endress said there were two or threeitems to consider and told <br />Council that some of the problems had been resolved. One item was the <br />pass3ng of sewer lines under the freeway at'Highland and Whits R.oads, on <br />Hi.l.ltop No. 2. Mr. ?'ussnski, the County Sanitary Engineer, said that where <br />the Freeway goes thx°ough was the highest part and that they would have to <br />spl.it a sewer at this point to go East and Y+Test on Highland Road to SOM <br />Cent,sr Road and that we did not need to consider this as a px°oUlem. <br />It was also agreed that a sleeve would be put in at White Road <br />so that any sewer lines coul.d be put through this sleeve. <br />Mayor Endress said that on Wilson Mills Road, t,he State had at <br />first talcen a].1 but 40 feet of the Stevens property, which left 12 feet <br />to the Videks9 West line, with no access to 42 acres belonging to Stevensa <br />The State has agreed to move the right of way 10 feet West, givi.ng a 60 foot <br />corridor between Videkst West line and the right of wayo <br />Some 87 acres of land and 9 or 10 homes are involved. <br />•Mre Henry told Council that he had nothing up his sleeve., that most <br />of the "bugstf in the matter were small now and cou].d or had been ironed out, <br />that_ within a matter of weelcs they were going to let contracts for one section <br />of the four sect3.ons between Mayfield Village and -the porfi.i.on of the Freeway <br />already built., and that they were going to acquire the sec-tion crossing Route <br />91 in a couple of weeks. As Council had no questions, the maps were brought <br />out and Mr. Henry., Mr. Spillberg, and Mr. Petersan, our Village Engineer' <br />spent the rest of the evening with those present discussing the Freeway. <br />Some of the people living along Wilson Mi11s Road that were involved in -the <br />FrEeway wEre also present and discussed the matter with the State Engineers. <br />1s <br />
