Mayor Endress tkien read a lett,er from Mr. A. B. Robertson of Echo Drive
- about the rauting of surface water from Ravine Drive across his property. Mayor
Endress then explained that the Conunittee on Roads had gone over last Saturday
- and investigated the situationo Mre Hopkins _ then reported that the Committee had
made a survey of the entire area; that Mr. Robertson had a-tile under the driveway
to take the water to the lake; that the lake had risen two to three feet; that
going north, south and west and checking into the pond had fouxbd septic water,
which was Robertson's; that they had run a level and fournl an 86 inch fall.
Mr. Hopkins then reported that the s econd catch basin on Robley Lane had a 24 ineh
tile coming into the catch basin and a 12.inch leaving the c atch basi.n. This
caused the catch basin to oeerflow and surface.water to run in the direction of
Echo Drive. Mr. Edelman -was. then a sked if there was ary'thing, that. could be done
to have Mr. Robley correct this.
. This brought up a discussion of-the underground, plans for Robley Lane
and it developed that no one knew where these plans were. Ma,yor Endress said
that we shomld get some plans from some of the former engineers for this develop-
ment and iagked Mr. Peterson to see if he could secure plans and see :Ohe're we-.•went
from there. Mrm Edelman s aid to get all the f acts of the case before we decided
what to do. Mre Zorn felt that if we could get this catch basin taken care of
it wuuld eliminate a lot of the troubleo . Mro TAT'edler, reporting for the Finance Committee, said that his coimaittee
had ].ooked at more gulla.es in the village than the committee knew wer2 here; that
they had not talked to Mrv Fisher, but this looked like the best of the 3.ot for
a duanp. Mr. Grootegood said that Mr. Hillier had talked to Mr. Fisher about this
place as a place for him to repair his graders. Mayor Endress said that we
should carry through as though we did not know Mr. Hillier was involved.
Mr. Edelman then brought up the.fact that the Court Clerk should have
a bond, as she handled considerable money from time to time and vahen we take up
the buciget should include money for this bond. There was some discussion as to
the.amount of the bond, but no definite figure was set.
Mayor Endress therireported that we had-x°eceived a contract from
Mr. Quigley on their land fill dumping based on $6.00 per load, but speaking
also of $2e50 per ton. As our 1oads are small' running around 2.,800 pounds per
load, Mayor Endress felt that we should have a contract based ori tonnage and not
on loads. Mr. Edelmari read a letter from Quigley'based on $2.50 per ton. Mayor
Endress thenmked Mr. -Ed.elman to write a contract based on $2.50 per ton and say
that our average loads ran around a ton and a half.
Mayor Endress -then x°eported that at" the last meeting we had talked of a
tzmporary sidewalk on 'SOM from Thornapple to the corner and asked if we had to
have legislation to have our engineer stake out the sidewalk: Mr. Wieland said
it would take around 6 or 8 loads of slag, cos ting around $135.00.
Mr. Zorn9 seconded by Mr. Hopkins, then introduced a resolution appro-
priating 1200.00 fx°om the gasoline fund for state roads to construct a three foot
slag sidewalk on SOM Road and for engineering fees.
5.
