The Clerk then reported that he had received a donation of $100.00 <br />from the Mayf ield Grange, which could be applied towards the cost of painting <br />the Town Ha41. Mayor Endress then asked that it appear in the records that he and <br />the Couricil were very grateful f or this donation and asked that the clerk write <br />to the Grange, conveying these sentiments. Mayor Endress than asked for Committee reports. Mrs. Brown, reporting <br />for the Architectural Board, said that they had met and approved 5 new homes, <br />3 additions and 1 garage. <br />The question of the City Code with reference to apartments then came <br />up and, as Mr. Wieland had been asked to check on this, Mr. Wieland was asked <br />for a reportm Mr. Wieland said that he had no time to check this as yet. Mr. <br />Peterson then talked to Council on State and City Codes with re£erence to <br />apartment houses, as well as going into the Regional Plan Dwelling House Code. <br />Mr. Peterson said that the Regional Planning Code was not as strict. Mayor <br />Endress then asked Mr. Wieland to get after this matter and check the code <br />and make a report on it. <br />Mrs. Brown =eported'that the Cemetery Trustees wished to fence the <br />Union Cemetery and wondered what Council thought of a split rail fence and asked <br />if a white f ence was pref errede Council said that nothing was more Early American <br />than a rail fence. It was then moved by Mr. Wedler, seconded by Mr-:-•WL-d1er, that <br />Council show preference for a rail fence. <br />Roll Call : Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Brown, Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Council then looked upon Mr. Bennett with great approval and thanked <br />him for engineering the good job of painting the Town Hall, It was said that the <br />sight of so many village men laboring on the Hall showed a spirit that was hard <br />to find in many other places. Mr. Bennett said that he was still working on <br />the Town Hall Steps and hoped to have them taken care of shortly,- <br />NIr. Wedler, reporting for the Zoning and Planning Commission, said that <br />they had met on October lOth with all present but De Franco, who had asked for <br />a re-zone for apartment houses. This request was denied. The Commission also <br />went over several other matters, but had nothing f urther to report at this time. <br />There was no report f rom the Saf ety Committeeo <br />The Finance Committee having approved the Pay Ordinance, it was moved <br />by Mrs. Brown, setonded byMr. Grootegoed, that Pay Ordinance No. 446-P be <br />approved ?and-passed -as `read. - - Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Brown, Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />- Nays - None, , - Motion carried <br />- ' Pay Ordinance Passed <br />5.
