<br />As this Special Meeting was primarily called to hear Charges preferred <br />against Fire Chief, Nelson Porter, the Clerlc was aslced to read these charges <br />to Council, which he did , <br />Mr. Basom, an Attorney representing Mr. Porter, was then introduced <br />to Council. Mr. Edelman then explained the procedure for the hearing and <br />the State Statutes which applied. <br />Mr. Porter was asked if guilty or not guilty, and replied by saying <br />"Not Guiltyo" <br />NIrs Grootegoed, the Clerk, Messrs Plastine, Schwentker, Hejcl, Nickerson, <br />W. Schulz, Mayor Endress, Bordonaro, W. Gura , C. Gura, L. Friedel, R. Nawrocki, <br />L. Powers, Z, Brichacek, H. Schulz and Nelson Porter were called to the witness <br />stand in that order. These men were questioned, and cross-examined by the <br />Attorneys. Later, around j A. M. the next day, the Fire Chief of Willoughby <br />Hills and Highland Heights spoke in f avor of Mr. Porter as a Fire Chief. <br />Council then retired to consider this evidence as presented to them. <br />Upon their return, Mayor Endress called for a vote on guilty or not guilty. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Mr. Zorn - Not Guilty <br />Mr. Wedler - Guilty <br />Mr. Bennett - Not Guilty <br />Mrso Brown - Not Guilty <br />Mr. Grootegoed - Not Guilty <br />Mr. Belzer - Not Guilty <br />Verdict: NOT GUILTY <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council, upon Motion <br />made and duly put, Council adjourned. <br />Attest: <br />. <br />(SE L) ?---Cler c <br />Nlayor - President of Council <br />3.
