Mr. Peterson said that this
was caused by the former engineers on Thosnapple Drive getting off center line
and not the f ault o£ the present contractors. He said that there was a great
deal of consternation among some of the Thornapple residents, who felt that
the road should have been moved to meet the old pavement or that the pavement
should be cut down on one side to meet the present road. Mr. Peterson said
that it was bad engineering to chop up a good cement road built on a correct
survey to meet and correct a mistake in an old development with nothing but
a macadam road. There was a great deal of discussion on this matter and
placing of poles at the junction. Mro Wieland and Mr. Peterson assured these
residents that in their discussion with the Illuminating Comgany the matter
would be straightened out.
Some of the residents on Thornapple expressed fear that this road would
be used as a by-pass of the SOM light and thought that it should be barricaded
at the meeting place. Council felt that this would be hazardous in case of
fire and work a hardship on the service department and felt that our police
could take care of the matter.
Mr. Belzer then asked about the stink on Beechhill. Mr. Peterson said
that they had had trouble with one of their blowers.
There being no further business to come before Council, upon motion
made and duly put, Council adjourned.
Attest :
Mayor President of Council
tf
(S I,) k
7.
