Mayor Endress then read a letter from Chief Shortle, advising that <br />Patrolman Smith had served his probationary period and recommending that he be <br />appointed as a regular patrolman, effective the first of the year. Mayor <br />Endress then appointed Mr. Donald Smith as regular Patrolman effective <br />January 1, 1962, t <br />It was moved by Nir. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Belzer, that this appoint- <br />meni: be conf irmed. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Grootegoed and Belzer. <br />Nays - None.; ? - <br />• " ". Motion carried <br />Appoitttment Confirmed <br />< < .. - <br />Mr. Shortle reported"that Arthur<Bruening, a Votary Public, had <br />administered the Oathof Office to Patrolman David Wheatcroft, a regular <br />Patrolman. <br />. . < < . <br />riayor Endress then read a letter f rom Chief Shortle,.saying that Zouis <br />B. Nliralia of iKetro Park Drive had made application f or the Auxiliary Police <br />Unit. Messrs Wedler, Behnett, Grootegoed and Belzero <br />Nays = None. - <br />, Motion carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Mre Edelman then reported that it was customar.y at this time to pass <br />an ordinance f or the transfer and appropriation of funds for various purposes. <br />Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mre Grootegoed, then introduceci Ord;napee No..-750 <br />entitled; "An Ordiriance to Provide for Transfer and'Appropriation of Funds <br />f or Various Purposes During the Year 1961" , which ordinance was.read to <br />Council. <br />.. . . ' <br />This ordinance was th"en placed on its first reading. " <br />Mr, Edelman then read to Council Resolution No< 524 granting a <br />Special U-5 Permit f or use o£ the Nlyers property as a garage. <br />Mr. Belzer, seconded by r1r. Wedler, then introduced Resolution Noo 524 <br />entitleda "'A Resolution Granting a SpeciaZ U-5 Use Permit to Kenneth Meyers <br />to Use Certain Preni?ses f or a Garage and Repair Shop for Automobiles". which <br />resolution was read.to Council. <br />• As there were only four Council members present, and a£ter various <br />attempts to bring Mrs. Brown to the Council chambers, this resolui:ion was <br />placed on its first reading. <br />2.
