Motion carried . <br />Orclinance Passed <br />Nr. Fa1k then brought up the subject of ths Planning and Zoil3.ng Commission <br />and said'lle,tohought they shoulad meet once a month. In the past no one was <br />advised in advance of the3.r meetings and trais was shost-circui.ting the publica <br />Said Mr. Falk, "The law speciiies that this rweting is open to ths public and <br />I think we should set a certain date so tha.t the public i.n general wil7. lmow <br />when they are mee-ting, the builders wi1l know also and bring their busi.ness <br />to these meetings." <br />Mro Strater sa.id that, as a member of Council, he believed that it was <br />advisabl,e for Council to be informed of the operation of the Vil],age' and <br />that by sending out inforrnation, Council coul.d be ffiore advised; that he would <br />].a.Yse to sit 'in and hear° such met3ngs; that there were lots of questions that <br />requa.red study that could not be done at the Council ta.ble; that he,never <br />knew unt3.7. Council wha.t went on and would like to know when they have a meeting. <br />Ma.yor Enciress said that this cou:ld be consi.dered and a defv.zite date <br />set for meetings. <br />As Counci-1 was about to adjourn, Mr. Wedler asked our Solicitor i.f the <br />duties of Council were not legislative aasd did not include the judicial or <br />executive. Mr. Edelman replied that the duties of Council were ma.inly <br />Legislative9 but there were incidental other duties, Mr. Wedler went on to - <br />say that he woulcl lalce to reco7rnnend that Council stick to what thay were <br />elected to do. . <br />N?r. Falk said that the incident raferred to by 14r. Wedler ti,ras vte1l <br />within the rights of Council, and when Council felt tha.t an i.n4estigation was <br />for the good of the Vi]1a.ge' he thought that right could not be disputedo <br />Mr. Taylor then presented Counc3l with a pselimin,ary report on ths <br />investigation of the Police Department, at the request of tIe I'layor.
