N1r. Strater <br />said that they had requested owners of business establishments on S.O.M. to <br />appear a.t th.e Safety meeting and discuss the rrg.tter. All but two appeared. <br />Mr. Strater said -that they all promised to do some cleaning up and at the time <br />of this ireeting there was evidence that this was underway. -Mr. Strater said <br />tiZa.t tnis meeting was very successful and gave the i irs-E real hope that 100/ <br />cooperation could be secured from our business men, but that these thiizgs <br />toolt time. <br />Various propertJ oUmers from the Seneca Road area were present and <br />took issue with Council over the amount of time needed. It was their conten- <br />tion that Council should declare this an emergency and take immediate ac-tion. <br />Mr. Strater again said that a condition existing so lono could not be remedied <br />in one day and said that he would have the other-two businesses at the next <br />meeting and see what could be dcane. <br />Mre Strater reported that the Fir°e Department, upon investigation, <br />was still short 100 feet of 216 inch hose ?o pu?t the new piunper in operation <br />and the Comrni.t-tee recommended that this hose be purchased. <br />It was moved by Plr. strater, seconded by Mr. Hopkins, that 100 feet <br />of 21 inch hose be purcha.sed"for no'u more tha,n $225.00.
