Roll Gall: Ayes -Messrs Taylor9Wed.ler.Strater9Brawn,Falk & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. <br />Notion carried <br />Ru1es Suspended <br />It was moved by Mrs. Bro-vm, seconded by Mr. Falk, that Ordinance No. <br />594 be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ay'es - Messrs Taylor'VTedler,Strater,Brown,Falk & Hoplcins. <br />Nays - None. Motion carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Nr. Strater then reported that the Safe-l,y "ComYnittee had talked about a <br />police mutual, aid ordinance, bu-t as Gates Mills had not supplied us with a <br />contract, Mr. Edelman said that he,woul.d secure one from their solicitor and <br />the matter was t,abled until the next meeting. <br />Nr. Strater then talked of the turn-around on Robley Lane stating that., <br />as there. was no drain u.ncier this turn-around, our Fire Chief had run.into <br />trouble with the neighbors in trying to flush the end hydrant. Mre Strater <br />said the Gommi.ttee would like a clarification of 'the Village s tatus in a <br />matter such as.this, especially as to our authority in flushing hydrants on <br />non-dedicated streets. <br />. Mr. Edelman s aid that we could not run water from these hydrari.ts and <br />damage private property; that we had an easement when the main went in' but <br />-this did not mean that we coU].d damage property in flushing hydrants. Mrs <br />DeNiore, who was present with I4r. Roblev, said that this matter -was being <br />taken care of and no trouble would be experiencecl in"the future. <br />Yir. Strater reported that it was again that time of the year when a <br />police car should be purchased; that we were having -trouble tiaith our Pl,yrnouth; <br />and that the Ford, which had 110y000 miles, was Being babied for emergencieso <br />j`1r. Strater said that tae should advertise ior bids during the first and <br />second week in iiovember so that Council could. act on the matter at the <br />iqovember meeting ard get delivery the first oi' the year. Mr. Edelman said <br />that we could advertise the lst and the 8th of November and P4ra Strater then <br />turned over specifications for these bids, asldng that bids be secured with <br />and..without a trade-in allowance. <br />Mr. Strater, seconded by Mr. Hopkins, theii introduced Resolution No. <br />406, entitled: tPA Resolution Authorizing Advertising for Bids for a New <br />Police Automob3.le", tidiich resolution was read to Council. <br />It was moved by 1`Zr. Tayl.or, secondect by Mr. Hopkins,, that the rules of <br />latia requiring a resolution to be read on° three s eparateoccasions be su.spenr3ed. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - i°iessrs Taylor,Zqedler'Strater,Brotan,Falk & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. r <br />Mo-tion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />4.
