Mr. Tay].ox°. said that two contx°acts were subm3.tted ly Mr. Pet,erson and that he was qualif3.ed to handl,e the work and that he. had. x°educed the ra-te on the seeoni contract. There was a great deal of discussa.on with reference to rates and comparisons made witdi those charged by eur prev3.ous engineer' and the fact that rlr. Peterson wi.shed to be paid to attend couxicil meetings w'nich t,rere not re7.ated to some job on whieh he woru7.d be wos°king. ' It was decided that the contract shou7d be changed so that some one.would be in attendance at Counci.l meetings and that he should be paid for these meetangs except when worls3.ng on some project,. Mayfie].dq?' which ordinance was read to Cou.ncil.m It was moved by Mr. Taylor, secorxl.ed by Mr. Wedler9 that the ru].es of 3.aw requsring an ord3.naxice,to be read on three separa°h,e accasioras be suspended. Nays - Nonee ' - Motion carraed Rules Susperrded Council stopped at this point to-discuss the oxdinanee with Mr. Hopltinsa who felt that he did not lxnderstand fi11e ordinance in question. Agai.n the matter was discussed, s,ritah Mr. Tayl.or givi.ng a full explanation of the contract as he understood it; the ma3n dffieu].ty being that Courici]. felt tha°t Mr. Peteason should not represen°? ar?yonie e].se in the vi.7lage while represent3.ng Counc3].. l.
