Mayor Endress sa3.d that this road would have to <br />have a stc>i°m seiaer and suggested to Counc3.1 that they gice approval to our <br />engineer to make a survey ancl.find out the appraximate eost of;sueh improve- <br />ment. Mayor Enci.ress then told-the delegation from Seneca to.get a petition <br />asking Ccaunc3l to improQQ Beneca Road arid we woul4 have oar engineer make a <br />sut-7ey, . <br />Mr. Ede]man said that he had clrawn up an ordinance on pressure sewage <br />plants for -Gabriel Construction and read a lett,er fxom our engi.neer.9 saying <br />that he had exoniraed the plans for the sewage pumping station and force main <br />proposed for Gabriel Subdivisions and found thera satisfactory and of sufficient <br />capacity to tske sewage fram Eastgate, Robley Lane and Thornappls subdivisions' <br />that these plans were appr.oved by the Cotmty Sanitary Engineerts office. <br />A large delegation fram Thornapple then proceed.ed to quest3on Mr. Mann. <br />s,everely as to 3ust what this meant to that subdi.vision. , There was confusion <br />in the m3nds of many as to the difference betgeen stoxm and sanitary arrl more <br />confnsion st3]]: abotlt a quotation of #170•00 per 7.ot as quoted in a local <br />paper. As bids had not been received for these ianprovements., no exact cost <br />conld be g3ven and the theme of the meetirig seemed to be that Counci.l pass <br />notbing ux?til thi:s be ascertained. Mr. Mann.. again arul again reiterated that <br />he had been asked by the Zoning and Planning Board and the Canuit,y to make . <br />these improvements b3g enoutgh to take care of the other subd3.visicrrs and was <br />on1,y _interested in seeing that ariyorie-who eut into or vsed these faci73ties <br />pay the proportionate share of.the improvement. It was also brought out, 3n . <br />this exchange of verbiage thatt althrnxgh Thornapple Drive had a storm sewer . <br />which received the effluent from the sept3c tanks,- it ran into a ditch crossing <br />the area being developedbg Gabriel and De Fxanaa. Th3.s ditch was originally <br />on property owrbed?by Mr. Fisher, who later sold it without getting an easement <br />for this ditcri. Mr.. Zorn then read a copy of a letter from. Mr. Fisher,._ which <br />Fstated that _provisions would be made for coimect3,.ons irito the storm sewer and to <br />hian thi.s was the same as an easement. Othez!s thought that, vn7.ess it was wr.itten <br />into the deedp-t,here was no easement. Mr. Taylor, seeorxPed <br />by Mr. Strater, then introduced Ordinance No. 621 entitled: "An Ord3mmnce <br />Yrohibiting for a Period of Ten Years arq Connections i.nto S#,orm and Sani.tary <br />Sewers to be installed by'Gabriel Constructioa Co., and Carl A.
