M., Mayor Endress presiding.. <br />R,oL Ca1.1: Present - Messrs Wedler9Strater, Browsi9 Zorn and Hopkins. <br />Absent - Mra Taylor. <br />The M].nutes of the Regular Meeting of Apri1 219 1958, were then read to <br />the Councilo It was moved by Mrs. Brom., seconded by Mr:--Hopls3.ns, that the <br />Ma.nutes of the Regular 14eeting be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll- Ca7.l : Ayes - Mes srs S trater9 Brahm9 Zorn and Hopkins o <br />Vays - Noneo (Mr. iqedler came in late and did not vo-te <br />on this Motion). . <br />. . . Motion carried <br />, . Minutes approved. - <br />? <br />? <br />-Mayor Endress then reported that he ti,rished to appoint Mro wilZiam Shortle <br />as Sergeant of Police on six months probation. It.was moved by Mrs. Brown, <br />seconded by Mr. Hoplfl.ns, that this appointment be confirmed, <br />Roll Call: Ayes --Messrs Wedler, Strater' 3rown' Zorn and Hoplfl.ns. <br />Nays - None. <br />n Motion carried <br />, Appointment confirmed. <br /> <br />Mr. Edelman9 a Notary Pablic9 <br />Mr. William Shortlee <br />then administered the Oath-of-Office to <br />Mayor Endress then said that it gave him great p1.2asure t,a present the <br />Sergeantas Chevrons to Mre Shortleo Mayor Endress.went on to say '-?at he <br />hoped-Mr. Shortlz would be able to do an even better job than the ez.-cellent , <br />one he had done to date and that he wou1d never let the badge nox the Uil.lage dowmm, <br />Mr. Hopkins asked about t,1ze Vill.age Ha]1 s-teps, which are in bad shape., <br />said that he was waiting for a design sketeh from the Architeetural Board and it <br />was suggested by the Mayor. . that he get in toueh t,ri.th Mr. Dumorit arxd see if he <br />coul.ci get the sketch. . <br />It was -then moved by 'mr.
