Mrs. Brown said that she had talked vrith Mr. Moses of Mayfield Heights and <br />there was to be a meeting 3.n.Jariuary and at that titne he would get-in touch <br />with us. Mrso Brotim also said that there had been.a meeting of the Archi- tectural Board on Thursday, at-which time they had approved two sets of plans, <br />one on Echo Drive and one on Glenview. <br />Mr. Hopkins said that he had nothing to report from the BU.ild3ng <br />Committee. Mr. Hopkins then went on to say that he had looked at-the wiring <br />of the Leslie Hause and found it in bad shape. The fuse box under the porch <br />and not very well prot,ected was the•old bus wire fuse box, badly rusted and <br />contained only two or three circuits. The wiring thraughout the hause was <br />unorthod.ox and did not meet code requirements. Mr. Hopkins said that und.er <br />the present c3.rcum.stances, the c3.rcuits_ were overloaded and he especially <br />reconanended that an-'electr3.ca1 dryer., wrongly vented and notwired to code' <br />be di:scormected until the wiring could be clzseked again and fixed. <br />14r. Strater said that there was nothi.ng to report from trhe Safety <br />Committee. - ° Mr. Wedler, reporting for the-71anning & Zoraing Commi.ssion$ proceeded <br />to read the mimtes of the meeting held December 9, 1958, at 8:00 P. N!. in the <br />Towm Hall, w.i.th Mayor Endress., C. R. Wedler, Jr., C. H. iTYil.ir, H. M. Filldns <br />and N. R. Reed present. The purpose of ineeting was t,o review a letter submitted <br />bg Mr. Albert Weisberg, in which he asked for perrnission to use the Weisbexg <br />barn for the purpose of selling at retail fnxniture, hard.ward, clothing, drugs <br />and miscellaneous ifiems. Mr. tieisberg stated that it was his intention fio operate the bvs3ness himself. The Crnmni.ttee at this meeting requested that . <br />Mr. Ed.elman draw up an amendinent to Oirlinance No. 159 for the purpose of <br />clarif°ying the procedure grant3.ng U-5 permits on],y in U-!t areaa• <br />Mr. Edelman said that., in,asmuch as his opinion_had been asked as to <br />whether the bosrd had .3urisdic'-?,ion to hargl.le this as a hardship aase, he would <br />suggest waiting until he haad rendered his opinion. Mr. Ed.elman went on to <br />say that., if his opinion warrantedt he would recommend holding a meeting., <br />advertisiAg in the papex°s and notify'ing the affected-propertty owners by', <br />reg3.stered mail•, that his opinion would be on]:y on the legal side of the <br />matter. Mr. Hopki.ns said that, in hi.s opinion' SOM Road was not adequate for <br />the traffic that'thi.s sort of thing would brir;g about arrl that this should be <br />the first thing we should Qonsider. Mr. Hopkins then drew attention to <br />Ordiaance No. 493 and said that, inasmueh as the barn had not been completed., <br />he thought that we ahrnil.d give Mr. Weisberg back YLi.s bni3ding fee and 1et him <br />tear . dam the barn. Mayor Endress said that this was soinething for the board <br />to cons3.der. Mayor Endress then suggested that this-matter 'be pnt before the <br />ftegional i'lanning Board for a thorough stud,y of the area. Mr. Taglor said <br />that he wonld ].3.ke to have Mr. Edelman's opinian on what he considered a <br />hardship case. Ntr. Edelman said that he wou7.d not tell the board what <br />constituted a hardship 'ease, as that is for the Board to decide. <br />Mr. Taylor said that the Fi.nanee Coimnittee had a meeting on November <br />24th, and recoAanended that an 3.nitial payment of $2000.00 be made on the Les73e <br />property note. Mr_. _ Taylor then. spoke of the fact that ]-ights were badly nseded. <br />2.
