Mayor Bennett stated that the Village has received a complaint f rom Big
Four Lumber that the Performance Bond of $500.00 per home is too high. The
Mayor suggested we sticlc to our guns and hold to it.
Mr. Peterson, the Village Engineer, stated the surveying f or sidewalks was
proceeding and would be plotted up soon.
Mayor Bennett announced the resignation of D4r. James Plastine from the
Auxiliary Police. Mr. Plastine feels that he cannot devote enough time to the
Department now that he is the Civil Defense Director.
Mr. Anthony Smeraldi, representing a group of residents adjacent to the
Mayfield High School, informed the Council that they are having trouble with
the School Board.
Mr. Smeraldi, who lives at.6150 Robin Circle, stated the High School has
an air cooling unit on the rear of the building which is a public nuisance
because of the offensive noises and the spraying of water over private property.
The School Board has allocated $350.00 to make a study of the use of
soundproofing material around the Unit. Originally the residents were willing
to go along with the Board, but now they don't think they are doing enough.
Mr. Sloan and Mr. Mason believe this should be a Village problem because
of the spraying of water and private property.
Mr. Edelman suggested the Committee do one of two things: 1. Go directly
to Columbus and made a f ormal protest, or, 2, go to Common Pleas Court and get
an injunction against the School Board.
It was decided to invite the 5chool Board to a meeting with Council and
the Committee of residents at the Village Hall. A tentative date was set for
Tuesday, March 1, 1966, .
There being no further business to come before Council, upon motion made
and duly put, Council adjourned at 10:00 P. M..
Attest;
?
(SEAL) Clerlc-Treasu er
L -9nn6A - GZ3 'a ,-
M or - President of Council
9.
