Roll Call: Ayes-- Messrs Shaw,-Busa, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Davis. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Davis, introduced Ordinance #958 entitled: "An <br />Ordinance to Vacate the Easterly 10 Feet of South Woodlane Drive" which was read <br />to council. . <br />Ordinance #958 was placed on the table f or first reading. <br />Mr. Edelman stated that there will be a hearing in Columbus on May 10,1966, <br />at 1:00 P. M. f or the Jay Drug Store liquor permit-f or carry-out beer and wine. <br />Mr. Edelman also stated that a D-5 permit was requested by Mt. Vernon Estates. <br />This permit is set for hearing in Columbus on May 25, 1966. ,. <br />Judge Case inf ormed the Solicitor that the liquor permits were judged on <br />two requisites: (1) Suitability of person, <br />1 ? (2)' Suitability" of location. <br />Therefore, the State Liquoi- Board woald not reject them' because of -lack of building <br />on premises. The permit wil,l not be granted until a suitable building is built., . <br />on the propertyo <br />The Ghurch and School Board already attended a separate hearing regarding <br />the Jay Drug Store carry-out liquor pernait. It was the cottcensus of the Council <br />that the Solicitor and a member of Council need not attend the meeting in Columbus°, <br />for above mentioned permits. <br />Mayor Bennett stated that on Thursday, April 21, 1966, the Civil Defense <br />will test their warning system. <br />Mayor Bennett stated that the Ohio State flag flying above the Town Hall <br />was donated by the Cocmnunity Club. The Club also purchased and had installed the <br />new lighfis on the front =of the Hall., <br />Mayor Bennett then read the report f rom the Fire Department. <br />Mr. Sloan requested the Mayor to write a letter to the Metropolitan Parlc <br />Board to have the property reverted back to residential so the Village may receive <br />tax benefits. Mayor'Bennett-stated that he plans to meet with'the Park officials <br />f or that purpose, <br />Mr. Mason expressed,the need for better announcement of the entrances to <br />the Village on the hi'ghways;`' <br />Mr. Shaw asked Mr. Sloan if he had talked to May€ield Heights about their <br />plans f or sidewalks on Ridgebury. Mr. Sloan stated?'that they,had no plans as of yet. <br />There being Ro f urther business to come bef,ore Council, upon motion made <br />and duly put, Council adjourned at 10;15,P. M.'
