Mayor Endress then read a letter f rom Albert S. Porter, saying that <br />they had received our consent ordinance No. 761, and noted that Ridgebury <br />was included. Due to limited funds the County felt that it could not maintain <br />this road. <br />Mayor Endress then called Council's attention to the fact that an <br />Ordinance for re-surfacing SOM Road was placed on its first reading and was up <br />f or passage. <br />It was then moved by Mr. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Mason, that the rules <br />of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended <br />as to Ordinance No. 760, entitled: °tAn Emergency Ordinance Enacted by the <br />Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in the Matter of the Hereinafter <br />Described Improvement, Under the Supervision of the`Director of Highways.°f <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn, Wedler, Bennett, Mason, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />: Motion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mr. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Belzer, that Ordinance No, <br />760 be approved and passed as reado <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn, WedTer, Bennett, Mason, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Nays - Nonee <br />Motion carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Mayor Eqdress then asked for Committee Reports. M ro Mason, reporicing, <br />said that they had met oa February 22nd and approved three homes in Kenwood <br />and one on Beech Hill Drive. At another meeting on March 8, 1962, one home <br />was approved. <br />Mr. Betcnett, reporting for the Building Committee, spoke of the repaired <br />steps in front of the Town Hall, the new shelf for the Clerk and the area light <br />in back of the-Town Halle Mr. Mason then asiced that the Committeelconsider the <br />pos$ibilities of installing a drinking f ountain in the Building. Mr, Bennett <br />said that he would look into this matter. <br />There was'nothing to report f rom the Welf are Committee. <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting f or the Safety and Service Committee, said that <br />Chief Porter had asked for some new hose and the Committee suggested that he <br />get some prices, Mr. Belzer said that Psr. Sliortle had asked.that the Police. <br />be tied into the new Radio setup and Mr. Belzer asked that Nlro Shortle discuss <br />this with Council. Mr. Shortle then gave an interesting talk on the new system <br />and said that with it, we would be using the University Heights transmittes • <br />direct by cutting into it through telephone lines and would have a direct <br />contact with some o£ the municipalities through this systeme Mr. Llieland then <br />asked, if we tied up with this new system, whether he could have the old <br />2.
