' Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />June 17, 1963 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular meeting at the Town Hall <br />at 8;00 P.M.,_Mayor Endress presidiRg. <br />Roll Callz Present ? Messrs. Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Absent - None. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 20, 1963, were then read to Council.. <br />It was moved by IMr. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Bnnett, that the Minutes of the <br />regular meeting be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer, <br />- Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Minutes Approved. <br />Mayor Endress then-asked for reports from the Committees. Mr. Mason, reporting <br />f or the Architectural Board of Review, passed out minutes of their June 13th <br />meeting to Council and proceeded to read these minutes. Mr. Mason then talked f or <br />a while on the proposed store building. <br />Mr. Sloan, reporting for the Welf are Committee, said that he had a request for <br />$260.00 which was in our budget and was to be used f or recreation f or the Village <br />o£ Mayf ield. It was then moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Mr. Bennett, that the <br />Clerk be authorized to draw a warrant for $260.00 in favor of the Mayfield <br />Recreational Committee. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. -Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Nays - None, <br />- Motion carried. <br />Mr. Sloan then reported that the Cemetery Committee had started to put*in <br />sidewalks and said that the Committee f ound that the County did break up the <br />drains which were causing so much trouble and that they were now repaired. -Mr. <br />Bordonaro got the bid on the sidewalks_f or the cemetery. <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting for the Safety and Service Committee, said that they <br />had met on June 3, 1963 and at this meeting Fire Chief Porter had asked that Mr. <br />Gura be retained on the Fire Department, saying that they were in need of day <br />time men-and in view of this the Safety Committee approved the request. Mr. <br />Belzer said that since this meeting the question came up as to whether Mr. Gura <br />would be retained as assistant fire chief. Mayor Endress then referred this- <br />matter back to the Committee f or f urther studyo Mr. Belzer said that Police Chief <br />Shortle had a lot of reports on the Freeway from the Automobile Club and that <br />the Committee thought these should be read to Council, Mr. Short4e then read <br />these reports, Mro Shortle said that a Resolution was being made f or Villages <br />on speed on the Freeway and that they wanted to put np signs at the interchange <br />saying °'Gates Mills" instead of the "Village of Mayf ield°". Mr. Shortle said <br />that Council should think of this and see that a sign f or our Village was <br />erected before doing anything about resolutions of any lcind, Mr. Shortle also <br />1.
