<br />Mr. Feneli stated t~.at their are apparently some problemsF:in response <br />to Fire calls relating to the mutual aid contract with Willoughby Hills. <br />He suggested that Chief Hejcl sit down with the Chief of Willoughby <br />Hills and clarify which calls per area would be the responsibility <br />of Mayfield Village. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated the work for repairs to Flickory Hill will have'to <br />be put out for bids ~~sd :Council will need to au3~horize this advertisement. <br />Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr..Busa, made a motion to authorize the ad- <br />vertisement~~for"bids for the street repair stork for Hickory Hill. <br />discussion was~held on the work to be done on the other Village streets <br />with Mr. Hov~ncsek cl£rifying that crack sealing etc. mill Yiave'to be <br />done this year and the asphalt work waiting until next year. Mr. <br />Amendola will need a roller to do some of the work. <br />Ro-11 Call P AYES : A~11 <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Authorization Given. <br />Mr. Amendola stated that work would be starting on East Thornapple and <br />they will be-using blacktop. They will be leasing-a roller with option <br />to buy. <br />Mr. Boger questioned the legality <br />of leasing with an option to bu <br />. <br />y. <br />Wouldn't a purchase have to go out for bids and ~,zhy purchase a piece <br />~ <br />of equipment that would be idle eight months out of the year. <br />Mr. Amendola explained that the base fzilgure of this roller was $16,200.00. <br />If the Village takes advantage of the lease with option to buy, the <br />company will allow $1200 for the old roller. He has 28 streets to <br />fix and a lot of money can be saved by doing the work themselves. <br />Last year $13006100 was spent just to do the Worton Park area. - <br />Discussion was held'on the renting vs leasing with option to buy. <br />Mr. Boger questioned whena decision would have to be made? <br />Mr. Relic exp-lai"ned the procedure for this and si'ad he had spoken with <br />Gus a~3d didn't foresee any problems. The entire amount of the monthly <br />rent/lease monies could Ise applied to the purchase price of $15;000:00. <br />Further discussion-was held with Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Flynn, <br />making a motion to lease the-roller with the option to buy with 'a <br />legal opinion-to be made by the Law Director. <br />Mr. Amendola stated that a lot of the compaction work at the new building <br />site can be done with this machine. It is a three-ton roller but has <br />a seven-ton vibration force. The price of $15,000.00 is only if~ <br />a lease/purchase contract is signed now. <br />
