- 4-
Mr. Relic replied that we do not carry the Coordinator as an
employee and receives no benefits, he is the same as a sub-contractor.
Mr. Bennett suggested that since the Village pays his salary per-
haps Council should hire him - and perhaps have a better control on
expenditures.
Mr. Byrnes stated that a certain amount of dollars are budgeted for
the Recreation Board and they should use the money as they best see
fit.
Mr. Barclay stated that Council appoints delegates to the Board and
if there is any problem they should report back to Council.
Mr. Bennett said the Board should come up with a budget for the coming
year and then stick to.it.
The Mayor advised that since these people are devoting their time, we
should make sure it runs as smoothly as possible.
Mayor Beebe read a letter from M_ARC requesting two responsible delegates
be appointed to MARL. The next scheduled meeting is January G, 1977.
Meetings are held at t'ne Board of Education Building the first Thursday.
Mr. Barclay suggested that perhaps delegates be picked from members of
the Recreation Board.
The Mayor said that as soon as all appointments are made to the
Recreation Board appointments will be made, however he will see to
it that someone attends the January 6th meeting.
At this time the Mayor wished to make his recommendation of appoint-
ments for the Village Engineer, Law Director and Assistant Law Director.
Mr. Grogan stated that appointments for the three mentioned be deferred
until the January 17th Regular Council Meeting so that Council would
have more time to review the contracts and ordinances.
Mr. Barclay stated that he had as much time as the other Councilmen
and all contracts seem reasonable, "why must we wait"? If we do mot
confirm tonight this would mean that they would be working for the
Village without pay.
VILLAGE ENGINEER
Mayor Beebe recommended re-appointment of Stephen Hovancsek as Village
Engineer for a two year period as stated in the contract.
b1r. Barclay, seconded by Mr. Schulte, made a motion to confirm re-
commendation of appointment of Stephen Hovancselc.
A lengthy discussion followed, regarding fees.
