~1 <br />-3- <br />He also stated that he received complaints re barricades on several <br />streets which he will discuss further at Caucus. <br />Mr. Flynn wished to state for the record: (Dictated to Secretary) <br />"The Safety Committee initially asked for two (2) full time firemen, <br />5 day, 40 hour week, 8 AM to 4:30 PM Shift, Monday through Friday. <br />Our present part time men are available evening and weekends with limi- <br />tations. The Mayor and Finance Director urged the Fire Chief to ad- <br />vertise and step up recruitment for part time men (outside of the City <br />if necessary), to work this 40 hour daytime shift. It was our under- <br />standing with the forthcoming Insurance Service Organization Report, <br />and the effect of the recruitment program, we would again take up the mattei <br />of hiring 2 full time firemen." <br />Public Safety & Public Utilities - Mr. Busa had no report. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Barclay was not present to report. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Bordonaro was not present to report. <br />Council of Councils - Mr. Bordonaro was not present to report. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the January 10, <br />1977 meeting. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Schulte had no report. <br />Recreation - Mr. Bennett said he was unable to attend the meeting on <br />January 18th but since the Mayor was in attendance he will give a report. <br />Mayor Beebe stated that those in attendance were enthusiastic and will <br />get. off to a good start. Officers and a Recreation Director will be <br />appointed as soon as all members are in attendance. <br />Mr. Flynn suggested that perhaps the amount of members stated in the <br />Ordinance be reduced and also that the members meet with theFFinance <br />Director for procedures and guidelines to follow in purchasing. <br />Mr. Relic stated he would be glad to meet with the Recreation Board. <br />MARC - No report from Mr. Flynn. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Resolution 968 - "ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY AT NORTH6tiTEST CORNER OF SOM <br />CENTER ROAD AND WILSON MILLS ROAD BY RIGHT OF EMINENT DOMAIN". <br />Mr. Grogan suggested that the Budget/Appropriations Committee review <br />this resolution due to the amount~_~of money involved, therefore post- <br />poning third reading until the February meeting. <br />Council unanimously aggeed. <br />Ordinance 76-35 - "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMI3'SION TO THE <br />ELECTORATE OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL CHARTER". <br />Given second reading. <br />
